Personal Statement:

My studies and research focus on community oral histories, the relationship between film and history, public memory, community organizations, and making history accessible to the general public.

For nearly two years I have been conducting research and interviews about Portland's Center for the Moving Image (CMI), Andries Deinum, Tom Taylor, and the greater Portland film community. My Master's thesis is a cultural and community history about CMI as a foundational media arts center and about Portland's film community from 1957-1985 based on secondary and primary resources, including interviews with CMI students and/or instructors.
